The present Brigadoon is the third production of the show at McNary High School. It was first done by Ken Collins, himself, in 1984 in the Little Theatre that formerly stood where the music classrooms of McNary are now. It ran for seven performances.

When Linda Baker took over the Theatre Department at McNary, she decided on Brigadoon for her first musical. It was the 1996-1997 academic year, and the show ran January 10, 11, 17, and 18 of 1997. She used some costumes from the first production. Her production featured village houses with actual thatched roofs. The thatching, in fact, took up an enormous amount of time. Audiences will notice that there are no thatched roofs in the present production! The Styrofoam stonework used in the show made appearances in several subsequent shows.

There is another sort of  “second time” element to the present production. In Ms. Baker’s Brigadoon, the role of Fiona was played by Angie Palmer. In the present production, the role of Meg is played by Libby Palmer, Angie’s sister. Sierra Mullins, sister of second-production company member Nicole Mullins, is in the company of the present production.

Last, and certainly not least, Music/Orchestra Director Deborah Ward also served in that capacity in the second production, and Technical Director Terry Rohse was Lighting Designer for that production.
